Being obsessed with Top Gear will NOT make you good at this game. From Codemasters Racing comes the simulation-toned racer based on Europe's most prestigious auto league. And although the "true to life" form of the game can be felt in full force, the hard "sim" edge marginally subtracts from its level of fun.
Poor NHL fans. You get a great game from EA and that's about all you're probably going to get for the season. As the NHL is trying to sort out its priorities, and obviously didn't learn a healthy, financial lesson from the last lockout, EA Sports has quietly released another year's version of their hit NHL series. What can you expect with this year's version? Come find out.
You can call it DLC if you want, but it's just an expansion. That's not a bad thing. Battlefield 3: Armored Kill is the latest release from DICE and EA for their lovely BF3 title. This time the focus is mainly on map size and what armored vehicles (thus the name) you can play. There is no room for Call of Duty grunts running out trying to take out as many people as they can; this is purely for the...[Read More]
If you don't play this game with the D-pad, you are a n00b! From Activision and Robomodo comes a mash-up of classic Pro Skater 1 and 2 elements with a fresh new coat of high def paint. And although the level count is low in number, the addition of new gameplay modes and online make this well worth an all day pass to the park.
More is more.
While discussing N.E.R.D.'s third album, Seeing Sounds, Pharrell Williams seemed surprised when he learned not everyone experienced synesthesia. Blending senses and seeing colors instead of sounds came natural him, and I'm willing to bet the same line of thought applies to Queasy Games and their short list of collaborators for Sound Shapes. Sound Shapes (as well as Queasy Games’ 2007 title Everyda...[Read More]
'm having a helluva time with these minis from SNK Playmore. Not only do they throw me back to my arcade days where tokens meant the world, but they also explain where I get my gaming frustration. 1989's SNK Playmore classic, The Next Space, is next in line to test my skills
Oh, Chopper I, you're so incredibly crazy and difficult. Welcome home to the SNK PSN family!
Don't worry, Michael Bay didn't have anything to do with this game. From Activision and High Moon Studios comes the follow up to '10s War for Cybertron with more twitchy third person bullet spraying. Solid campaign principles linked with a sturdy online component make this a really fun excursion into the "in disguise" universe.
Long Road Ahead is the third entry in Telltale’s take on The Walking Dead. If you haven’t played the previous episodes A New Day or Starved for Help, then you would do well to give them a spin. Not necessarily because they’re great (and they are) but rather it’s required to make any sort of sense out of the content behind Long Road Ahead as well as this text of this review....[Read More]
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure returns to consoles via a downloadable HD version from Capcom.
One of my unspoken pet peeves of the Madden series, and something people would probably chastise me for bringing up, is the over-complication of the most recent releases. You can only take a football series so far before you have to start adding new modes, different ways to play and gimmicks. I would say the last few years have had some solid content with gimmicks inside to boost the value. This y...[Read More]
