When it comes to saving the world for total destruction, people used to rely on THE Jack Bower. 24 Legacy doesn’t have Jack Bower anymore, but the new, gritty; Eric Carter is one bad dude you don’t want to mess with. This show is filled with conspiracies, foiled terrorist plots, and lots of actions, I mean LOTS. The opening scene of the season begins with Carter at home with his wife Nicole. The day seems to be going pretty normal, until men from Carters past breaks into his home, demanding a box that was taken from a raid Carter and his men executed while over in the middle east. Carter escapes and kills the terrorist, and so the day begins.

Carter has to uncover the plot of who leaked his name to the terrorist group while trying to contain the hell that could break loose if this box is uncovered. With the help of a CTU agent named Rebecca Ingram, Carter continues to track down the terrorists and the leads of who leaked the information of his group. The show takes multiple turns in the story by creating false evidence pointing at innocent people that put them in the cross hairs of Carter and the CTU. Carter puts his wife Nicole in the custody of his estranged brother, Isaac Carter, who is a drug king pin near New York City, and who Nicole was formerly in love with. Talk about family drama. Isaac reluctantly takes care of Nicole and eventually comes to terms with his brother as they settle their beef, in extremely difficult circumstances.

CTU agent Ingram is married to presidential nominee John Donovan, (same guy who plays Nero from Sons of Anarchy), who seems to be in the middle of the controversy. Donovan’s campaign manager is initially linked to the leaks, only later to be acquitted from these charges once they confirm the images were faked; but faked by whom? Just as you think Carter is close to figuring out the pieces to this complicated puzzle, the show drops another bombshell, (pun intended, watch the show and you’ll get my pun), on the viewers.

For the most part, I really enjoyed this show. I thought the action was pretty good and the actual story line was good too. I love a good conspiracy, and this show did not disappoint. With that being said, there were some things that I wasn’t thrilled with. In some parts, the acting was a little spotty. The main actors were great, (Carter, Ingram, Donovan, Nicole) but some of the supporting casts weren’t great. Donovan’s father in particular wasn’t great. I thought his story line for that character was decent, but for the acting, I wasn’t a big fan. With that being said, I would recommend this show. I believe that overall, the story was well put together and the overall show was pretty good, and Cater quite frankly, is a bad ass.

I watched this show via DVD and powered through it over the course of 4 days. This set includes 4 CD’s for the episodes and also has some special features. Some of the deleted scenes and extras are worth taking a look at.
