Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios today announced that international DJ Dimitri Vegas and actor Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, also known as The Mountain from HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” will battle head-to-head in Mortal Kombat 11 via two different live matchups at Gamescom 2019 in Cologne, Germany.
First, Gamescom attendees can watch the EDM artist, Vegas, face-off in Mortal Kombat 11 against the Icelandic strongman, Björnsson, in the “The Music vs. The Muscle” matchup at the Google Stadia consumer booth, located in Hall 9 of the Koelnmesse, on Aug. 22 at 4.30 p.m. CEST. Mortal Kombat 11 on Stadia will also be playable for the first time at the Stadia consumer booth during show hours.
Immediately following, fans can catch the second head-to-head battle on Aug. 22 at 5.30 p.m. CEST as Vegas and Björnsson will duke it out again in Mortal Kombat 11 at the Xbox Open Doors fan experience within the Gloria Theatre. This matchup will be livestreamed and can be viewed on Mixer and the NetherRealm Twitch channel. During this livestream, the new trailer for the upcoming Dimitri Vegas as Sub-Zero character skin will be revealed. The skin will be available for all Mortal Kombat 11 owners on Aug. 22 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. Additionally, the latest Mortal Kombat 11 downloadable content (DLC) character, Nightwolf, will be playable at Xbox Open Doors from Aug. 21-23 at 5.00-10.00 p.m. CEST.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, PC and Nintendo Switch. The Kombat Pack is the best way to upgrade the Mortal Kombat 11 game experience with new downloadable content (DLC) featuring six characters – Shang Tsung (available now), Nightwolf (available now via early access), Sindel, Spawn and two fighters to be announced at a later date. The Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack also includes numerous skin and gear sets and one-week early access for all content. Players can purchase the Kombat Pack as part of the Mortal Kombat 11 Premium Edition. All DLC characters and bonus character skin packs will be available for individual purchase after the one-week early access period.
