That’s a great name. Enjoy the official details and video.
Combine an endless procession of nobles claiming “But of course I’m the rightful king!” with brutal edged-weapon warfare, and what do you get? Buckets of Anglo-Saxon claret, that’s what.
Now available for A Total War Saga: THRONES OF BRITANNIA, the Blood, Sweat and Spears pack uncorks the gore with limb-lops, beheadings and artisanal arterial arcs. It’s available to purchase now on Steam, and absolutely free to those who already own the Blood & Burning pack for Total War: ATTILA.
Also live now via auto-update is the Allegiance Update for Thrones of Britannia. This major overhaul updates and rebalances many areas of the game based on player feedback. Introducing greater depth and granularity to politics, improved battle AI and a new system for issuing decrees, the update also heralds the new Allegiance mechanic – a system which simulates the trials facing a faction that expands to capture new territory. The Anglo-Saxon era was truly a brutal one, and not just on the battlefield. Spare a thought for hapless Edmund Ironside, whose brief seven-month tenure as King of England was cut cruelly short on 30th November, 1016. No glorious death in combat for our Edmund however: he was knifed on the privy. What a way to descend from the throne.
