REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Nintendo is bringing a wide variety of activities and games to this year’s New York Comic Con event. In addition to having a booth with playable versions of many unreleased Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games, as well as the new Nintendo 2DS system, Nintendo is hosting a must-see speaking session with Eiji Aonuma, the producer of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for Nintendo 3DS and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for Wii U. Other unique events include special activities during Kid’s Day on Oct. 13, competitive video game tournaments, artist demonstrations and giveaways (while supplies last).

On Friday, Oct. 11, Mr. Aonuma will host a special speaking session focusing on the just-released The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD game for Wii U and the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds game for Nintendo 3DS. The event will take place in room 1A06 at 2:45 p.m. ET and is open to all New York Comic Con attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.
Visitors to the Nintendo booth (#1436) will have an opportunity to get hands-on time with Nintendo 2DS, Nintendo’s newest hand-held system, as well as the following Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games:

On Sunday, Oct. 13 – Kid’s Day at New York Comic Con – some of Nintendo’s youngest fans will be happy to take part in a wide variety of kid-friendly activities for the new Nintendo 2DS hand-held system, including taking photos with a Mario costume character in a holiday-themed setting and speaking with Mario himself through the “Mario in Real-Time” service. Attendees that sample Nintendo 2DS on Oct. 13 will also receive an exclusive cinch-bag featuring artwork from both The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Mario Party: Island Tour (while supplies last).
In room 1E02, various competitive tournaments will take place, pitting players against each other in classic Virtual Console games from the Nintendo eShop. The room will also feature the following recent and upcoming Nintendo eShop games for free play.

The Nintendo booth will also host the Nintendo World store, where visitors can purchase select Nintendo software, hardware, apparel and merchandise. Games like Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, The Wonderful 101 and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will be available for purchase. Nintendo 2DS hardware and the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games will be available for purchase starting Oct. 12. Visitors who purchase any Nintendo hardware in this location will receive a Nintendo 2DS carrying case as a free gift with purchase.
Once visitors to the booth are done checking out the games, the Nintendo fun continues. A sandcastle artist will be sculpting a recreation of Windfall Island from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD out of sand at the Javits Inner Roadway, directly in front of the Javits Convention Center. The completed sandcastle will be available for viewing on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13.
New York Comic Con runs Oct. 10-13 at the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan. The Javits Center is located at 655 West 34th Street. Nintendo will be in booth No. 1436.
