Warner Home Video prepping people for the biggest Sunday of the year with Beer Wars

BURBANK, Calif., February 1, 2010– Warner Bros. Digital Distribution announced today the acclaimed documentary Beer Wars debuted On Demand and for Download.  Beer Wars, directed and narrated by Anat Baron (former General Manager of “Mike’s Hard Lemonade”), takes viewers on a no holds barred ride through the U.S. beer industry that ultimately reveals the truth behind America’s favorite beer brands.

Told from an insider’s perspective, Beer Wars goes behind the scenes of the daily battles and all-out wars that dominate the $100 billion American beer industry.  Shot over a three-year period across 20 cities, the film chronicles the journeys of Sam Calagione, founder of Delaware-based Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and Rhonda Kallman of Boston-based New Century Brewing Company (and co-founder of Boston Beer, makers of Sam Adams) as they strive to bring their masterful libations to market amidst brutal competition and institutional roadblocks.

Beer Wars uses the experience of its two idealistic entrepreneurs to delve into larger issues about

free markets and consumer choice. The film not only examines the plight of small businesses in America but also ultimately provides compelling insight into the political and economic ramifications of an industry like American beer.

In the U.S., Beer Wars is available to rent On Demand through Digital Cable and Satellite providers Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox, Cablevision, Charter, Insight, Bresnan, Verizon FiOS, AT & T U-Verse, Dish Network and DirecTV.  It is also available to download on Amazon Video On Demand, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.  In Canada, the film is available to rent On Demand through Digital Cable and Satellite providers Rogers Cable, Cogeco, Videotron, Sasktel and Shaw.
