Today’s review comes courtesy of our friends at KiiBOOM. We were sent not one, not two, but THREE sets of keycaps to review. This review may seem smaller than our prior reviews, which should be expected: These are keycaps, not a fully fledged keyboard.
If you haven’t heard of KiiBOOM before now, let me be the first to tell you: I love their prebuilt keyboards. I’ve tested a handful of their keyboards in the past year, and I’ve been consistently impressed by how well they design and build their keyboards. Their Phantom series of keyboards is one of my favorite keyboards because of its clear aesthetic. They don’t just provide keyboards to folks – they also manufacture custom switches and keycaps!
KiiBOOM x Elyxirine Digital Dreams: Pastel Y2K Keycap Set
Have you ever wished that your keyboard featured a soft pink aesthetic, infused with early-aughts (aka 2000s) computer designs? Look no further than the Digital Dreams keycap set. The Pastel Y2K is the perfect blend of girly pop, nostalgia, and retro tech that can inspire one to fondly think back to the time when they acquired their first flip phone, pager, or even Walkman. When I take a look at the little flip phones, classic DSLR cameras, and Tamagotchis on the keycaps, I cannot help but miss my childhood!

The Digital Dreams keycap set is a 144-keycap set, perfect for any keyboard spanning 65% all the way up to full-size. The keycaps’ MOA profile make it so that the keycaps have a sculpted spherical feel. Unlike the harder edges you may be most familiar with on your existing set of keycaps (that are most likely Cherry profile), MOA keycaps feel soft to the touch. My fingers naturally rest in the center of each of the keycaps. The only downside of this shape of keycap is that it takes some getting used to, but once you place these keycaps on your keyboard and use them for a bit, it’s smooth sailing.
The Digital Dreams keycap set, while using pink pastel colors, is quite readable. While each of the alphanumeric keycaps have pink kanjis, the purple and white text is readable from a distance. The arrow emblems on the arrow keys are blended in well with the cute little Tamagotchis, making for a set of keycaps that look equally adorable yet functional.
My favorite thing about the Digital Dreams keycap set is the set of novelty emblems. As a 90s kid, I grew up with my fair share of simpler electronics, old-school computer UI, and Lisa Frank thematics. This set of Digital Dreams keycaps is sure to turn heads and is fit on any keyboard that needs a dose of nostalgia.
KiiBOOM x Cosydiaries Rainy Froggy Day Keycap Set
I love frogs. As a Google Pixel owner, I’ve loved having a little frog on the Android Weather application. I was quite sad to see the little froggy disappear with the newest update to the Weather App, but now that I have a set of keycaps that are frog themed, I feel complete! The KiiBOOM x Cosydiaries Rainy Froggy Day Keycap set is the perfect addition for any frog lover’s keyboard…or someone who wants a charming green splash of color on their current favorite mechanical keyboard.

The Rainy Froggy Day’s keycaps are insanely adorable. The little frogs featured on some of its 144 keys look similar to Keroppi from Hello Kitty. Like the Digital Dreams, this keycap set has the same MOA profile. This means that the keycaps are rounded, soft, and a perfect indent right in the center of each of the keycaps. They’re compatible with any set of keyboards, regardless of size, so don’t worry about not having enough keys. I had more than enough keys to use on my full size keyboards with some additional keycaps to spare.
The green color scheme features a nice gradient of colors from a light mossy green all the way to a dark forest green in the bottom function/spacebar row. Not all of the keycaps have little froggies, meaning that the keys are quite readable and far from visually busy. Even the keys that have text and emblems, like the Shift and Enter keys, are clearly readable. It’s great to have keycaps that have clear legends and feature some cutesy novelty designs.
If you own KiiBOOM’s Breeze 75 or the Moonshadow V2, the Froggy Day Keycaps perfectly complement the keyboard while adding colors that fit your keyboard’s general aesthetic. If you don’t own a KiiBOOM keyboard, these keycaps will fit right in on a keyboard with a natural/neutral color scheme.
KiiBOOM x Strawberryjam1986 Berry Cream Keycap Set
I get it, not everyone wants an adorable set of MOA profile keycaps. Some of us use our keyboards at work, but we also want a small amount of playfulness on our keyboards. If you’re in that camp, you should consider the KiiBOOM x Strawberryjam1986 Berry Cream Keycap set.

The Berry Cream Keycap set was my favorite keycap set to review during this Keyboard Extravaganza. I appreciate keycaps with alternative and rounder profiles like MOA and XDA, but I keep returning to the standard Cherry profile. From my experience using Cherry profile keycaps, the natural curves feel more ergonomic. Your mileage may vary, though.
Despite its name, the Berry Cream Keycaps look very professional for the most part. While the set’s orange, pink, and purple gradients may be unusual colors, the remaining keycaps’ creamy whiteness and Apple Mac-inspired font fit well with a desk of classic Mac products.
A small handful of the keycaps feature a cute little ice cream cone (“Sad Ice Cream”) and ice-cream inspired designs. They’re only on the Function keys, some of the numpad keys, and on the alternate arrow keys. If you want some keys with ice cream cones, you can slot them in easily. However, this set functions quite well as a professional ice cream-less set of keycaps, too.
Let’s wrap this up!
KiiBOOM’s newest batch of keycaps are high quality, ergonomic, and beautifully designed. The Digital Dreams keycaps are positively delightful, fully succeeding in hitting that sweet spot of Y2K tech nostalgia. The Rainy Froggy Day keycaps are adorable, and their little froggies bring a smile to my face when I glance down at my keyboard. The Berry Cream Keycap is the perfect blend of professionalism and some whimsical ice cream cones. KiiBOOM impresses, once again, with their selection of keycaps!
