The game itself is easy to pick up. You get dropped down onto an island, you choose where you want to land, and you go from there. Instantly you must grab a weapon so you have protection for yourself. A very fun part of the game is picking where to land and seeing what guns you may find there. If you’re lucky, you will find a rocket launcher. But you are constantly on the edge of your seat. It’s a nerve-racking game, knowing that once you die that your time is over. Everything you do must be quick. Loot quick, shoot quick, build quick.
The building in the game adds a whole new element that other Battle Royale games don’t have. You now have the ability to construct forts instantly, as long as you have the right materials. Having skills in building is an instant advantage to the game. It will get you so far into your match and can definitely save your ass from time to time.
All the weapons have a good side and bad side, making it fair. Shotguns are too slow, pistols are not automatic, and so on. The most versatile weapon is definitely the assault rifle. If you are lucky enough to stumble upon a legendary or epic rifle, you have increased your chances at getting farther in the match. Rocket launchers are the most coveted of all the weapons available. They will instantly turn the tide in any shootout. Their ability to destroy buildings in an instant is unmatched.
Another great feature of Fortnite, is that they are constantly adding new things and trying to make it better. A while back they updated the map and made it more exciting. Sometime last month they added the chug jug, then they released a minigun. As of just this week they have released a silenced crossbow.
As fun as Fortnite is, it can be very frustrating. There have been constant server problems. And sometimes when there is an update, something else goes awry. In some instances, you would be able to play a match, but not connect to your friends.
