Vector 36 is drawing closer to a final release on PC with support for the Oculus Rift and Vive. While it's not ready for primetime just yet, Red River Studio continues to push out updates on a very regular basis. I've spent some time under the hood of Vector 36 lately and wanted to share some early impressions.
Fugitive Games is an ambitious company and so is their early access Steam title Into the Stars.
In case you had something better to do on Sunday, and we can’t understand/fathom what that might be, Bethesda had its first E3 event to unveil some pretty snazzy games for the next year or so
Yes, that is the actual name of the game from Sega.
The Kickstarter-funded block puzzler is nearing release on Steam, and I had a chance to play a recent build.
Arriving exclusively to the Vita on September 10th, Killzone: Mercenary is shaping up to be a system seller. I'm basing that excitement and anticipation on playing a special preview build featuring one single player level that I received just last night. While this level, called Lightning Strike, has been shown at events like E3 and the like, this is the first time I've been able to play through a...[Read More]
The Dead Space 3 demo, available via limited exclusivity now with a public release through PlayStation Nework and Xbox Live next week, was quite a thrill. Internal tweaks were probably in place, but from a pure-content point of view it seemed identical to the sequence I saw several months ago at E3. Most of what struck me then still holds true now, namely: – The wintery atmosphere of Tau Vol...[Read More]
Good morning! Here are some excerpts from an interview we did in early October with Criterion producer Hamish Young for Need for Speed Most Wanted. Eric Layman (Digital Chumps): You guys have to serve two different masters. There’s the Need for Speed fan and there are people who expect another edition of Burnout Paradise from Criterion. Is there a struggle to adhere to some of Need for Speed...[Read More]

It was the chicken that did it for me. Guacamelee’s intense brand of action/platforming was fine, but it was the dedicated button to turn into a chicken that sold me on its potential. I mean, in the demo presented, there wasn’t much incentive to turning into a chicken. Occasionally you could become a chicken, a mechanic which makes you smaller, to sneak in some hidden areas. There was ...[Read More]
You have to appreciate IO Interactive’s commitment to creating an experience. The Hitman series has always been known for its myriad of ways in which to carry out Agent 47’s contracts, but the degree to which IO Interactive sells his world through apparent happenstance and raw ingenuity is thoroughly underappreciated. This is never more apparent than it has been through my time with Hitman: ...[Read More]
What a difference a couple of year makes. Resident Evil 5 was critically annihilated for featuring a cooperative system that was, for all intents and purposes, miserable if you weren’t playing with another human being. Sheva was an OK character, and mechanically speaking playing through Resident Evil 5 with a friend was basically roided-up Resident Evil 4 with co-op., but a solo experience w...[Read More]
