Impressions: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is showing at Activision’s booth behind closed doors. It’s not playable, but we were witness to a 20 minute demo that was played by some of the folks at Activision and Vicarious Games. MUA2 will contain twenty-four playable characters and the story is an offshoot of Marvel’s very popular Civil War atory arc from the comics. While the foundation of the s...[Read More]

Live Audio Feeds (Demos, Developer Q&A, Etc)

Here is a list of the live, raw, recorded audio we’ve taken from the show floor and from within closed booth demos of some of the biggest games of year; most of these include plenty of Q&A with developer representatives too… Heavy Rain: https://digitalchumps.com/images/stories/e32009/HeavyRain.mp3 Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time: https://digitalchumps.com/images/stories...[Read More]

Impressions: The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn’s Quest

The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn’s Quest was demonstrated on the Wii for us, and the game supposedly is a recount of Samwise Gamgee’s travels through the Lord of the Rings trilogy. As he recalls his stories, players assume the role of Aragorn through the battles in a playable flashback. Aragorn’s controls almost completely mimic those of Link from the 3D console Zelda titles, thoug...[Read More]

Impressions: Wolfenstein

Wolfenstein isn’t playable at E3 this year, but we did get to see it behind closed doors. This time our protagonist, BJ, who was the character from the original Wolfenstein, is armed with the ability to use the Black Sun, thanks to a device he wears on his left hand. This device allows him to see in darkness and slow down time, as well as a couple of other powers. Players will also be treate...[Read More]

Impressions: Batman: Arkham Asylum

Batman: Arkum Asylum was on the floor today to play and it’s looking great. Players will control the Dark Knight as he tries to defeat the Joker, who has managed to take over Arkham and release the dozens of inmates inside, not to mention other Joker faithful who were being transported to Arkham. Harley Quinn is along for the ride too as she will help Joker in attempting to halt Batman’...[Read More]

Sony Motion Control unveiling in HD

Talk about cool technology.  To go along with Microsoft’s stunning Project Natal (which reportedly works very well), Sony’s Motion Control tech looks pretty freakin’ cool.  Check out the full video of the unveiling in HD here: {hwdvs-player}694{/hwdvs-player}

Impressions: Rock Band Unplugged

Amidst the huge Beatles Rock Band commotion at the MTV booth, there was also a line of PSPs containing the upcoming Rock Band Unplugged game that comes out later next week. I was a little curious about the game because I’d played Amplitude but was wondering how this concept would be carried over to multiple instruments. After getting my hands on the game, I was actually quite pleased with th...[Read More]

Impressions: GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra

GI Joe: Rise of Cobra on the 360 surprised me. Gameplay is somewhat similar to Konami’s old arcade title that has players running and gunning against dozens of Cobra foes. One major point about the game is that it’s actually quite different from the movie. EA was given permission from Hasbro to be liberal with their license, and EA has done exactly that. About a dozen characters are av...[Read More]

Impressions: Darksiders

Vigil Games has been hard at work on their first major release: Darksiders. I was able to play through most of the demo today at Microsoft’s booth, although the game is being published by THQ. I’m still a bit sketchy on the details, but I do know that you play as War, as in War from the Four Horsemen. Basically, from what I gathered, the Apocalypse happened too soon, and you are to bla...[Read More]

Impressions: Bayonetta

I was able to play the demo of Bayonetta today at Sega’s booth, and I have to say I’m definitely looking forward to the full release of it later this year. Controls were pretty typical; face buttons jump, attack, alternate attack, and interact, left stick to move around, and right trigger allows you to evade (as opposed to right thumbstick). Evading is actually a key mechanic to the ga...[Read More]
