THQ was showing off a new one from the developers of Frontline: Fuels of War behind doors today. Known as Homefront, the idea is that in the next twenty years, North Korea allies with South Korea and that alliance begins taking over the world. Homefront takes place in the US and has the Americans under heavy attack from the Koreans who launched a massive EMP from space before invading. During play...[Read More]
Crysis 2 was being shown behind closed doors today at EA’s booth. A pair of developers from Crytek showed us two areas of the game and the two special suits that you get to use while saving humanity from an alien onslaught. Both areas were in New York, the primary backdrop for the game. The first battle showed the player battling alien mechs in the streets, going in and out of large building...[Read More]
The 3DS was the worst kept secret of this year's E3 for Nintendo as many from the media had already correctly speculated on some of its abilities. And despite all of the hype, nearly everyone was skeptical of its technological prowess as well as the implementation of its 3D technology. As you probably have already heard from every person who has had playtime with the 3DS, however, all skepticism h...[Read More]

While wandering across the show floor, I stumbled across what I thought looked like a possible gem for the Nintendo DS – Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light, already released in Japan. The first thing that I noticed was the semi-cutesy character designs that look like they were pulled straight out of a children’s book. The art style fit the play style, as well. Steve and I got our hands on Goldeneye for a multiplayer match yesterday and loved the new aesthetics. Looking over at the 2-player match next to us, the frame rate was extremely high and the game looked great for a Wii shooter. As for four player multiplayer, the frame rate did drop a little but the game was still much smoother than the original 64 title. One of the things I was afraid of was tha...[Read More]
While not initially pleased with the fact that Valkyria Chronicles 2 was being downgraded to the PSP from the PS3, I found its shrinkage to be surprisingly pleasant. Right down to the art style, the game translates perfectly from its big brother. Some concessions had to be made (include the loss of the Japanese voice track) due to the limitations of the hardware. The most obvious overall change co...[Read More]
There are a lot of things that Need for Speed fans are going to be experiencing and I have to admit they are pretty damn cool. Let's get started on the whats.
Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage combines the over the top martial arts violence of the classic First of the North Star manga and anime with the over the top gameplay of the well established Dynasty Warriors (Musou) series. When this was first announced, an entire niche rejoiced, as this seems like the perfect union. Based on a brief gameplay demo, this may be an even a better idea than throwing...[Read More]
