Noelle

Noelle is a Christmas movie ringing closer to the true issues which face the Church today like nothing I ever could have expected. What I thought would be just another wearisome feel-good Christmas movie turned out to be much deeper and more provocative than anything I could have expected. This Dove Family-Approved movie dares to tell a very non-traditional Christmas tale that will leave you both ...[Read More]

Wall-E

Leave it to Disney to release an animated movie under the guise of lighthearted fun for kids when the film is actually a damning social commentary on our consumer culture. Produced by the animation gurus at Pixar, WALL-E is a film that can mesmerize audiences of all ages – not because of its social message – but because you just get caught up in a good story. The namesake character, WALL-E, is a ro...[Read More]

Tropic Thunder (2-Disc Director’s Cut)

Instead of Vietcong, these boys face gun toting heroine producers “Black Dragon” in a movie about a movie about one man's apparent rescue from the … stuff (to paraphrase a profanity). Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. star i...[Read More]

The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2

300 Limited Collector’s Edition

Collector's Edition indeed! This sets a new bar.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 20th Anniversary Edition

I had a really clever tagline to put here, but Steve Allen had already thought of it.

Kung Fu Panda Two-Pack

Jack Black has never been in my top 10 comedic actors in movies since School of Rock (Don't ask, I know it's good, but it just rubbed me the wrong way).  So, when I sat down to watch Kung Fu Panda, I dreaded it just slightly. Roundhouse kick me the next time I second guess this man's talent.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Oh no, R2.

Sukiyaki Western Django

Japanese Spaghetti Western? Interesting concept, but how good was the execution?

Roman Holiday – The Centennial Collection

In 1953, Audrey Hepburn starred alongside one of my favorite actors of all time, Gregory Peck, in the classic romantic comedy Roman Holiday. Paramount is re-releasing this film to DVD this month as part of their Centennial Collection series which remasters these classic films, adds new extra features, and puts them in a great package.

Sabrina – The Centennial Collection

Few, if any, films stack up to the original Sabrina when it comes to a star studded classic romantic comedy. The classic film comes to DVD again this month from Paramount, who is set to re-release several of their best films in their catalog under the Centennial Collection name.
