Breaking Bad – The Complete First Season

When you think of TV shows, it's a good bet that you don't think of the AMC channel. However, if you are a fan of the one hour drama, you should definitely make an effort to see an AMC original show, Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston, of Malcom In the Middle fame. This brief first season introduces us to Bryan and his uniquely sad, although at times darkly humorous life. Releasing j...[Read More]

Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume XIV

Shout! Factory uses those “special parts” to bring you four more classic MST3K episodes.

Blindness

Have you ever tried to do any ordinary task with your eyes closed? The next time you have the chance, do it. You’ll find that the world is a very foreign and unfamiliar place without the sense we have all come to overlook. Blindness was a terrifying, and at times over the top reminder of how privileged we are to have the gift of sight.

Miracle at St. Anna

It’s black history month, so it’s unlikely the timing was coincidental that the movie Miracle at St. Anna came out this month. But, what better way to recognize this month than with a movie about the historical World War II all-black 92nd Infantry Division (more commonly referred to as the “Buffalo Soldiers”.)

Friday the 13th Uncut

In 1980, Sean S. Cunningham directed what would become a cult phenomenon and spawn nearly a dozen sequels when he brought us Friday the 13th. Director Michael Bay is set to release his remake of the original hit film in theaters this Friday, and in preparation of that, Paramount has re-released the first three Friday films on DVD.

Friday the 13th, Part 2

As we draw nearer to Friday the 13th this week, and the release of Michael Bay's remake of the original from 1980, Paramount has re-released the first three films on DVD. Earlier I reviewed the Uncut version of the original, now let's exam the sequel that came out a short year later.

Friday the 13th, Part 3 3-D

Friday the 13th Part 3-D has been re-released on DVD by Paramount this month along with the first two parts in anticipation for the new Friday film coming out this, well, Friday the 13th. This third Friday the 13th film was unique in that there was an optional 3D version that viewers could partake in with a pair of 3D glasses. This new DVD release includes not only the standard 2D and 3D versions...[Read More]

Natalie Wood Collection

Natalie Wood is amazing.  Beautiful and delightful, she lights the screen up in the past and her last film, Brainstorm. She's nothing short of iconic.

John Grisham: Courtroom Collection

There's nothing quite like a little courtroom drama.  Of course, it's nicer when there's a LOT of courtroom drama. Oh, it's John Grisham style. Oh, yeah!

I love the 80’s – Wave Two

Normally, we would review DVDs individually, but this is a doozy of a set.  They are sold separately, but they do belong with each other as great reminders of how good the 80's could be.
