You might want to laugh at Riverworld after seeing the cover, but honestly it was 'this' close to being really good.
I saw this when I was a kid, mainly because my parents were the responsible type, and it always stuck with me. The idea of a 'death' race across country and the fact that people's death was points is both horrifying and intriguing. They sure don't make movies like they use to anymore.

The Cinema Pride Collection from 20th Century Fox is a unique DVD set that celebrates the films dedicated to the gay/lesbian film genre. To say it's pretty definitive is probably a great understatement.
The 80s were a funny time for American television. Some of the strangest ideas emerged (see Knight Rider and Automan for details), including the quest for a mythical gold monkey. Some call Tales of the Gold Monkey a ripoff of Indiana Jones, but I really don't see the comparison. The premise from afar is certainly similar, but the delivery of the content is extremely different.

The single disc release contains seven episodes of the show and a couple of short features, yielding over two hours of entertainment for the kids. It's worth pointing out that these seven episodes are just a fraction of the twenty-six from season one, a...[Read More]
For six months in 1970, British station ITV1 aired the complete series of Manhunt. Set during WWII, Manhunt was about a RAF pilot who was shot down. He joins forces with the local French Resistance with the ultimate goal of returning to England in mind, but this journey will be an arduous one. Thanks to BFS Entertainment, the series is now available in a single DVD set which I received for review.
In the late 90s, MTV Animation took a character from the popular Beavis & Butthead cartoon and gave her a show of her own. Daria, the name of the intelligent, sarcastic, and happily unpopular high school girl, would run for five seasons and star in two movies. The DVD collection has been a long time coming, and it's finally here -- enter the Daria Complete Series box set, something that is sure to...[Read More]

Warner Home Video is releasing a wonderful 88 minute documentary on his life in the movie industry and that's what you're reading about now.

The first season is available on DVD this Tuesday and contains all nine episodes from ...[Read More]
