Raging Phoenix

Chocolate made some waves in the foreign and martial arts films genre, and now the lead actress, Jeeja Yanin, is back with her second film, Raging Phoenix. Magnolia Entertainment (Magnet) just released the film on DVD and Blu-ray this week, and while a lot of the action is pretty cool, the awkward pacing and terrible story make this one best left to a rental.

Wall Street: Insider Trading Edition

23 years after its initial release in the theaters Oliver Stone's Wall Street is still booming. At least better than the actual market.

Turner Classic Movies Presents: Greatest Gangster Films Collection (Prohibition Era)

Never catch me copper!  These four films solidly act as a time machine and take you back to an era of not just black and white, but show you the foundation upon which other films in this genre became built on.  Yes, they're that old.

Marmaduke

It's never good to start a review out with 'It could have been worse." Honestly, it could have been.

Red vs. Blue, The Recollection (season 6-8) and Revelations (season 8)

The latest from Rooster Teeth's finest.  The arguable leaders in machinima are back for more, with a richer story and bigger action scenes with the same insult laden form of humor.  Fans: rejoice, newcomers: read and learn.

Bugs Bunny’s Howl-oween Special

The Halloween season has begun! Having recently reviewed It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, it has certainly put me in the mood for more Halloween related entertainment. Warner Home Video has arrived with more Halloween goodies (since I can't go trick'r treating anymore; I usually have to steal Steve's candy) with Bugs Bunny's Howl-oween Special.

Survival of the Dead (Two-Disc Ultimate Undead Edition)

More recent films from Romero include Diary of the Dead and Land of the Dead. In this newest horror film with moments of comedy, Romero explores the sometimes bizarre and disappointing state of hu...[Read More]

TCM Spotlight: Errol Flynn Adventures

When I think of Errol Flynn, I think his portrayal of Robin Hood in The Adventures of Robin Hood from 1938. I always thought it was the most authentic rendition of the fabled thief of the rich. Errol had quite a film career, starting in the early 30s and finishing as an actor in the late 50s. During the WWII years, he starred in several WWII films. Earlier this week, Warner Home Video released a n...[Read More]
