20th Century Fox released two sets of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps last week on DVD, and surprisingly they still have some solid scare in them. Let's break them down.
In the age of cutesy cartoons and 'eductional' kids shows, it was nice to see Nickelodeon produce a solid series of shows that haven't forgotten what 'action and 'adventure' mean. Danny Phantom was one of those shows. Out on DVD from Shout! Factory, the show about a ghost boy still resonates with fun, adventure and a bit of scary.
“Hey, uh, somebody filming a bad movie out here?”
Marvel Knights Animation and Shout! Factory are releasing a new motion comic next week with Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers. This film was written by Robert Rodi, with art by Esad Ribic and animation from Magnetic Dream. The story was adapted from the Loki comic and it gives viewers a Loki-centric perspective that is often not presented.
This makes me miss the golden days of cartoons... severely.
BFS Entertainment is set to release the first set of Scotland Explored - Weir's Way on DVD on September 13th. The four disc set includes all thirty-five episodes and marks the first entry in the Japanese Collection that Shout! will continue to build upon throughout the year. If you enjoy the original Transformers series from...[Read More]
Danger, deceit, and debauchery, all on DVD. This three disk movie collection from the Shout! Factory brings a few choice selections from producer Roger Corman's take on the infamous women in prison genre with re-occurring stars like Judy Brown and Pam Grier. And though this collection is a great piece in the survey of American film history, the movies themselves are fun but definitely flawed, even...[Read More]
