Suspense and terror usually accompany a horror film that is predictable as it is cheap. Thankfully, Warner Home Video and director Richard Kelly attempted to break the norm with The Box. The question is did they push all the right buttons?

The animated feature runs about two hours and is comprised of seven different tales from within Bungie's epic sci-fi universe. Arnold Schwarzenegger was kicking a lot of ass in the late 80s. In 1987 alone he released two sci-fi classics -- Predator and The Running Man. Predator is certainly a better movie, but The Running Man is pretty darn cool in itself. Lions Gate just released the film on Blu-ray and they've done a nice job with it.

There are interesting stories, and there are interesting films. I'm not sure this one falls into the second category.
I've always been an advocate of needing a purpose to do a remake. There are films out there that need remakes and there are films out there that should be left alone. So, does a 1987 film that was terrifying the first time around and that is on Fangoria's top 100 Hidden Horror Gems beg for a remake?
In 2003, martial artist Tony Jaa starred in Ong-Bak, a film from Thailand that was well received in the US. A sequel was produced only recently, and both films came to Blu-ray this week.
