I was first introduced to Modern Family on an ABC iPad application. I had been bored one day and wanted to find something 'useful' to do with my iPad, so I downloaded the ABC television application to see how good the streaming quality was on my WiFi device. To my surprise not only was the video quality damn good, but also the video I was watching; that video was Modern Family.

I'm not really sure how they keep coming up with ideas for this show, but they appear to be flowing like a burrito in an intestine.

I love those Brits! They know how to make a great production. Of course, the overlying theme of this production isn't really anything to 'love'.

Donnie Yen, Kelly Chen, and Leon Lai star in An Empress And The Warriors, a foreign epic war film, recently released on Blu-ray and DVD by The Weinstein Company. This eighth entry in the Dragon Dynasty series is good, but short of greatness. Let's take a closer look at this Blu-ray release.

Every once in a while you see a movie that is so entertaining that you can't wait to tell your family, friends, and co-workers. And even after that first viewing, you're already eager to watch it again. This rare phenomenon happened to me a few weeks ago when I saw Ip Man, and actually again last night with The Good, The Bad, & The Weird.

Many actors have portrayed the Asian cinema character of Fong Sai-Yuk, although none perhaps as popular as Jet Li. In 1992, Jet Li starred in The Legend, his first role as the popular Fong Sai-Yuk after years of having starred as Wong Fei-Hung. The Legend was recently released on Blu-ray which I was pleased to receive for review last week.

Wow, folks. This is truly what a classic looks like.

Man, this show just keeps getting better and better.

Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr., and Woody Harrelson were the stars in an animated 2006 film known as A Scanner Darkly. Based off of a novel by Phillip K. Dick, A Scanner Darkly has that edgy, off-beat, cult nature to it that makes it a film loved by some, and disregarded by others. I hadn't seen the movie before we received the Blu-ray for review and I'm happy to admit I was impressed.

While the Ultimate Matrix Collection on Blu-ray is compelling, some Matrix fans may want to pick and choose their films. To that end, Matrix Reloaded was released as a standalone Blu-ray just last week by Warner Home Video. Packed with extra features and the outstanding presentation quality that the Ultimate set is known for, Matrix Reloaded on Blu-ray is a solid release.

When you hear 'it's a Leslie Nielsen' movie, what do you think of? I can think of several hilarious comedies that feature the always funny Nielsen, but his career is more than that. In the late 50s, Nielsen starred in a pioneering sci-fi film that fans still love today. "The Forbidden Planet" set the benchmark for many years to come, and many of its ideas are utilized in sci-fi today.

Tim Burton's Mars Attacks! features a star-studded cast. The film has finally made its way to Blu-ray as of last week, and while the presentation quality is great, and the film still enjoyable, I was shocked to find a complete lack of extra features. That said, let's take a closer look at Mars Attacks! on Blu-ray.
