The Winter Olympics in Vancouver start in several days, and earlier this month Sega released their officially licensed video game on the Xbox 360 and PS3. I've spent several hours with Vancouver 2010 and while it's pretty fun, it lacks any real depth or substance that makes you want to keep on playing. Let's take a closer look.
Sometimes you don't need overcomplicated graphics or intense engines to make a game enjoyable. Sometimes it only takes some good intentions and great execution. This is the very definition of Polar Panic.
From a pure-gameplay perspective, it’s hard to do worse than Q-Games PixelJunk line. Monsters is probably best console tower defense game ever, and Eden (a game I instantly recommend to friends who buy Playstation 3’s), at least once you’re familiar with the mechanics, is one of the most original and alluring platformers of this generation. Racers wasn’t as well received, but pum...[Read More]
2D brawlers were a huge hit in the late 80s and 90s, but you just don't see that many anymore. Done right, 2D brawlers are awesome co-op experiences that offer a lot of replay value and great memories. The genre has been well established by games like Double Dragon, Final Fight, and Captain Commando. SOE just launched a new PSN game that combines all of the classic themes and elements of a 2D braw...[Read More]

I couldn't wait to find out when we got it in for review.

I had never heard the name before I began to look into a new game called Rogue Warrior, developed by Rebellion and published by Bethesda Softworks. This very M rated game puts players in the shoes of Marcinko as they single handedly must keep ...[Read More]
In the original Assassin's Creed players found themselves experiencing new forms of stealth fighting. Climbing buildings, jumping down on helpless enemies and having one helluva chase after another, there was plenty to like. Regretfully, after a while the gameplay got a bit old and the continuity between present and past became distracting, which led to 'middle of the road' gaming. So to say there...[Read More]
You can't get anymore hardcore about NCAA basketball then you can when you're a Kentucky fan. We expect perfection (okay, near perfection) and an almost unrivaled amount of discipline when it comes to basketball. In other words, EA needed to deliver with their latest release of NCAA Basketball.
It’s the sincerest form of block party this side of Steven Spielberg and his geometric farm animals.
A little too Swift with the Taylor
Two epic games in one week? Man, my thumbs are sore, but it was all worth it. Sorry for being late folks, but I wanted to give you all the goods and bads of this Bioware beauty. Trust me, there isn't a lot here to dislike.
