E3 2013 – Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

This is my shortest time spent with a video game at E3 2013 this year, and it saddens me greatly because it was Donkey Kong Country. With that said, the time might have been short, but the addictiveness of it was great. Let's get right into it.

E3 2013 – Mario Kart 8

This was the first demo that I tried out in the Nintendo Press area at E3. I've been a huge fan of Mario Kart since my introduction to it on the N64 (sorry SNES peeps, I was a Sega guy until the bitter end -- thus, my first MK was on the N64 after the Dreamcast crapped out). My wife and I played the game relentlessly on that silicon based beauty of a system. When the Gamecube version arrived it wa...[Read More]

E3 2013 – Alien Rage

I'll be honest with you, I knew nothing about this game and spoke to no one on the dev staff about it before I dipped right into it. Sometimes that isn't a bad thing as a video game writer. You can dive into a game without any previous knowledge of what you're supposed to be doing, what it's about or how things are supposed to work.It worked out well in Alien Rage's case.

E3 2013 – Dying Light

Techland and Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment are bringing another zombie-esque game to gamers in the form of Dying Light. I know, I know. You're thinking, 'Good lord, another zombie game? What's that make, like, 14 this month?' It's a good question, but hear me out before you judge (or should it be 'read me out').

E3 2013 – The Wonderful 101

What if Pikiman and Viewtiful Joe got together, went out for some drinks, became great friends, decided that friendship wasn't enough, got married and had a baby? You would get The Wonderful 101. And a 'wonderful' child it would be.

E3 2013 – Disney Infinity

The first time I saw this game from a distance I thought 'Skylanders' with Disney characters. It comes with a base, figurines to use on it and some kind of flat objects that resemble pogs from the 90s. Some cynical gaming media would probably stick with that label and move on. Thankfully, Disney Infinity is something more.

GRID 2

Codemasters has made a career of perfecting driving games.  From GRID to F1 to DiRT, the developer has certainly done its best work when it comes to players behind the wheel of a mean machine. Sometimes their quest to produce the best ends up outshining some major big budgeted driving simulators.
