Renowned anime director Fumihiko Sori created Vexille, a CG anime film that was well received upon release last year in August. The film along with two hours of extra features came to Blu-ray recently and it's a pretty impressive release. Let's take a closer look.
Ben Stiller stars along side his dad, Jerry Stiller, Malin Akerman, and Michelle Monaghan in 2007's The Heartbreak Kid. Now on Blu-ray, how does this romantic comedy in the vein of There's Something About Mary and Knocked Up fair?
Sean Penn spent the better part of ten years creating Into the Wild, which is inspired by a remarkable true story of a young man who literally just wanted to get away from it all and become one with nature. The story is that of Christopher McCandless, a very successful college student who one day decides to give up all of his possessions and money and abruptly head west.
One of my favorite actors over the years would have to be Arnold Schwarzenegger. Like any great actor, Arnold has had his great films, and his bad films. 1996's Jingle All the Way would have to firmly be in the bad category I'm afraid, but would a timely Blu-ray release help? Let's find out.
Eddie Murphy stars as the captain of a spaceship that looks exactly like he does in Meet Dave, a family comedy about an alien race that comes to Earth in search of a lost artifact that will save their home planet. Now on Blu-ray, this enjoyable family film may very well be worth your consideration this holiday.

Samuel L. Jackson is one of my favorite actors and I've seen most of his films, but one that I never got around to seeing for whatever reason was Coach Carter. Coming to Blu-ray next week, we received our review copy in recently and I was pleased to finally have the chance to watch this film which I had heard a lot of great things about. Indeed this is a fine film and a pretty solid Blu-ray releas...[Read More]

This week, the new The Day The Earth Stood Still is coming to theaters. In preparation for that, Fox has released the original film from 1951 on Blu-ray and two disc Special Edition DVD. Both versions include a sneak peek at the new film as well as tons of extra features. I just reviewed the DVD release, but this Blu-ray has a few small differences in it that make it stand out. In 1951, one of science fiction's greatest films was released. This week, a remake of the classic is coming to theaters starring Keanu Reeves. Of course, the film I am talking about is The Day The Earth Stood Still, a chilling tale of an alien invader who comes to Earth bearing a grave warning to all of its inhabitants. Given the occasion, Fox has released a two disc Special Edition DVD and also b...[Read More]
Jet Li's Fearless was released by Universal back in the HD-DVD days and I was quick to pick it up after having seen it on DVD. When I found out Universal was going to to re-release this instant classic on Blu-ray, I was pleased, having at that point already sold my HD-DVD player and films. While the amount of extras is lacking, the presentation and film quality remain phenomenal.
