Split/Second

I haven't played a racing title as exciting and addictive as Split/Second in a long time. I've always been more of an arcade racer than a sim one, although I can certainly find enjoyment in both. I thought NFS: Shift did a nice job of blurring the lines between the two, but not since Burnout: Paradise have I really gotten to sink my teeth into a serious arcade racer until Split/Second.

Manhunt – The Complete Series

For six months in 1970, British station ITV1 aired the complete series of Manhunt. Set during WWII, Manhunt was about a RAF pilot who was shot down. He joins forces with the local French Resistance with the ultimate goal of returning to England in mind, but this journey will be an arduous one. Thanks to BFS Entertainment, the series is now available in a single DVD set which I received for review.

Ninjatown: Trees Of Doom!

Venan is quickly becoming a hot name in iPhone games. I played through and thoroughly enjoyed Space Miner: Space Ore Bust game a few months ago. Lately, I've been playing a new iPhone game from Pickle King Productions that is published under the Venan Arcade label. This colorful, accessible, and addictive vertical platformer known as Ninjatown: Trees Of Doom! is currently 50% and only $.99.

Daria: The Complete Animated Series

In the late 90s, MTV Animation took a character from the popular Beavis & Butthead cartoon and gave her a show of her own. Daria, the name of the intelligent, sarcastic, and happily unpopular high school girl, would run for five seasons and star in two movies. The DVD collection has been a long time coming, and it's finally here -- enter the Daria Complete Series box set, something that is sure to...[Read More]

Marked For Death

Steven Seagal was Marked For Death long before becoming Lawman on A&E's TV series. As Nathan Hatcher, Seagal is a freshly retired cop that gets pulled back into the drug war when his hometown becomes overrun with dangerous Jamaican drug runners. For action movie buffs, it's required viewing, but does this Blu-ray version deserve a spot in your library?

Alan Wake

Remedy may not create a lot of games, but when they do, they turn in stellar work. Their newest title -- in production for several years -- is finally available and you shouldn't miss it. Alan Wake's beautiful nightmare has begun.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

Ubisoft's Prince of Persia series is back this week with Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. Expanding upon the original Sands of Time Trilogy, The Forgotten Sands is an all new adventure in Persia featuring the same acrobatic jumping and combat that gamers have come to know and love. Is this new adventure in Persia worth your time? Indeed it is, let's find out why.

The Legend of the Tsunami Warrior

Magnolia Entertainment brings us another nice gem from Asian cinema with The Legend of the Tsunami Warrior. You may not recognize the cast or crew in this lineup, but if you're looking for a solid action-fantasy flick with a bit of romance, you should strongly consider this one. It's available now on Blu-ray, which is the version I received for review.

Dead To Rights: Retribution Set For GAC Pack DLC On June 1st, Screenshots Here

I just completed and enjoyed Dead To Rights: Retribution, a solid title for action gamers. This DLC sounds pretty damn cool -- keep an eye out for it June 1st.

Skate 3

My experience with skateboarding games is frankly thin, with my most recent virtual grind session coming from Tony Hawk: Ride. While troubled on many levels, I appreciated Ride for its interactive but very frustrating controller. But this isn't about ride. This is about Skate 3, the third title in EA and Black Box's series in as many years. Having not played Skate before, I was coming into 3 a tot...[Read More]
