Took me a second to realize how to pronounce that name. The game does look solid (no pun intended). Check out the official closed beta details below.
BORDEAUX, France – July 20, 2026 – Frostrail, the brutal co-op survival FPS from Barotrauma developer FakeFish and publisher Shiro Unlimited, pulls into the Steam Train Fest and SimFest Workers and Resources Fest today with the announcement of a Closed Beta beginning on Monday, August 31, 2026, during the Steam PvE Survival Crafting Fest! Prospective engineers can sign up to participate in the closed beta of this top 100 wishlisted unreleased game on the Frostrail Steam page.
In a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by an unending blizzard, climb aboard a mighty locomotive and prepare to fight for survival. Alone or as part of a team of up to four, drive the train across the wasteland, making stops at the remnants of a once-thriving civilization. Visit old mining camps and villages to forage for food and materials, and delve into subterranean vaults holding powerful weapons and rewards.
Hurry back to the train, head on a swivel; the wasteland’s swirling snow conceals ravenous creatures known as Revenants that will attack unwary travelers who linger too long. Ready your weapons and prepare to fight your way back to the train in intense FPS co-op battles!
Once you’re safely back aboard the train, use scavenged materials to upgrade arsenals and build new defenses and upgrades for the train itself. Rest up, heal up, and arm up, because the next stop will only be more dangerous.
Frostrail will launch on Steam Early Access for Windows PC in Q4 2026 with English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Polish, Portuguese – Brazil, and Simplified Chinese language support.
