Manhattan Beach, CA – August 5, 2025 – Pearl Abyss announced a major content update for Black Desert Mobile, bringing players the highly anticipated next chapter in the Land of the Morning Light expansion set in the mystical Hwanghae Province. This expansion introduces immersive new tale collections, formidable Black Shrine bosses, revamped arena content titled Martial God Tournament, and the debut of a powerful new class, Seonin. The update releases worldwide today.
Land of the Morning Light: Seoul
Crossing the Margoria Sea leads Adventurers to the awe-inspiring Hwanghae Province, home to the capital Seoul and a rich tapestry of culture and mythology. Adventurers will traverse stunning locales such as the Gyeongbokgung Palace and the Gwanghwamun Gate, which were carefully recreated to reflect its real-life grandeur, and experience the conclusion of the Land of the Morning Light expansion’s storyline.
New Tale Collections
Inspired by Korean mythology, four new Tale Collections have been added:
- Tale of Chunhyang – Follow Dolswe and unravel the mystery of the marten that suddenly appeared.
- Tale of Samsin – Unravel the disturbing mystery behind vanishing children born from divine prayers.
- Tale of Bulgasal – Meet a solitary guardian cursed with eternal life, protecting the ruins of a fallen kingdom.
- Tale of Uturi – An elite fighting competition where an unexpected challenger awaits the Adventurer.
Black Shrine
Powerful new foes — Samsin, Bulgasal, and Uturi — will appear in the Black Shrine content, initially available up to difficulty level Calamity 5, with higher difficulties to follow. For the first time, previous bosses like Mudang Wraith, Golden Pig, and Bamboo Legion Lieutenant will join the fight, escalating the challenge. To combat this threat, the new Tag System allows players to swap between characters from their Family mid-battle — a strategic feature that adds depth and dynamism to high-level combat.
Martial God Tournament
The Arena system is undergoing a complete overhaul. Hero of Karkea, Arena: Ranked, and Normal Arena will be replaced by:
- Martial God Tournament: Spar – Classic 1v1 PvP with point-based monthly rewards.
- Martial God Tournament: Ascent – A ranked 1v1 system with six ranks, from Brawler to Martial God.
- Martial God Tournament: Duo – Team-based 2v2 PvP with matchmaking and ranking systems.
These new modes include CP adjustments and same combat effects in normal monster zones like Super Armor and Grab Immunity, delivering balanced, skill-based competition.
New Class: Seonin
Alongside the Land of the Morning Light: Seoul update comes the arrival of Seonin, a new class who channels the five elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water — to maintain harmony between umbral and luminous energies. Equipped with the Enlightened Blade and Elemental Orbs, Seonin dances across the battlefield with fluidity and precision. His signature Rabam Skill, Nail Down, allows him to teleport, strike from the sky, and summon the Iron Tiger for an additional hit. Seonin will be available to all players on August 5, promising a fresh and versatile playstyle for PvE and PvP enthusiasts alike.
Summer Update Notification Subscription Event
