Date: Wednesday, July 30, 2025

What you need to know:

  • Teamfight Tactics: K.O. Coliseum, the anime-themed 15th set of Teamfight Tactics (TFT), is now live on global servers. The highly-anticipated game update is free for all players and is available on PC and mobile platforms.

  • Watch the Dev Drop video featuring the developers of K.O. Coliseum as they discuss what players can expect as they step into the arena here.

  • Watch the cinematic trailer featuring the new track “FIGHTER!!” by artist ASCA, known for her anime opening tracks, here.

  • After 2 weeks on the Public Beta Environment (PBE), players all over the world can officially jump into K.O. Coliseum on Live servers and fight their way to the top over the next four months.

  • Teamfight Tactics: K.O. Coliseum transports players to Whisker’s ultimate anime fighting tournament filled with magic girls, Shonen warriors and a Mighty Mech as they power up for a no-holds-barred battle of the century. Seize the moment, team up and build your dream team of anime legends from various groups of champions including Star Guardians, Soul Fighters, Battle Academia and more.

  • K.O. Coliseum also introduces Power Ups, the new set mechanic. These enhancements bring a surge of strategic potential to the arena, giving players the edge they need to ascend the ranks. By using a Power Snax on a champion, players unlock an armory of empowering options tailored to that unit. Any champion can be turned into a superstar — and when it’s time to switch things up, the Power Up can be removed and applied to a new, even more exciting unit.

  • Players can further immerse themselves in the tournament with new cosmetics hitting the shop with the live patch. Highlights include Chibi Spirit Blossom Lillia, Prestige Chibi Spirit Blossom Ahri, High Noon Thresh Unbound, and The Veiled Village Arena. The set also brings an innovative array of anime-inspired Portal Skins including Spirit Springs, The Way of the K.O., God Weapon, Crystal Caress, Portal of the First Star and Into The Lands Beyond.

  • With the launch of K.O. Coliseum, TFT is revising and evolving unit roles for better champion identity and the ability to create more novel champions. The system alters how units gain mana based on their roles and how champions interact with various gameplay systems. For example, Tanks (Defense-heavy champions that take damage for the team) will now gain 5 mana per attack and will generate mana from taking damage. They’ll also be at the center of aggression more often, making them more likely to be targeted.

  • K.O. Coliseum also marks the launch of the TFT Pro Circuit (TPC), TFT’s new Tier 1 tournament series that will be rolled out in all four regions in August 2025 as an additional competitive layer to the existing structure. The TPC will feature 3 separate events taking place throughout the set. Fans can tune into the first TPC tournament on August 29 to see the debut of the Tier 1 pros – 32 of the game’s top players who qualified through Teamfight Tactics: Cyber City to represent each of the four regions.

  • The TFT Open – TFT’s largest event of the year – is back! The open-bracket LAN event will take place in Paris’ Porte de Versailles with 768 player slots—50% more players than before. Competitor passes will go on sale starting with presales on September 8. Pass prices and pre-sale details will be available on August 20. TPO will also feature an Artist Alley celebrating TFT’s amazing community creators, more dev panels, co-streamer meet-and-greets, and plenty of chances to play in Side Events. Additionally, TPO will feature a 4v4 event starting on Day 2 for competitors who were knocked out on Day 1, complete with its own prize pool.

Quote from Michael Sloan, Lead Set Designer for Teamfight Tactics: K.O. Coliseum:

“It’s been incredibly rewarding to watch the community dive into the early K.O. Coliseum set content on the PBE with their enthusiastic reactions, creative comps and hype moments. We can’t wait for new competitors and returning players to step into the anime-inspired chaos of the Coliseum. With Power Ups bringing new ways to unleash beloved champions, we’re excited to see what kind of heroes our ingenious players create.”

About Teamfight Tactics

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) is a free-for-all PC and mobile strategy game where eight players combine beloved League of Legends champions and items in different formations to defeat the seven other players in a match. Players tactically place an army of characters on a grid-shaped game board, and those units are automatically launched into battle until only one player remains. Across each year, TFT rotates through three themed Sets, keeping the game fresh and fun for players while maintaining its signature strategic gameplay experience.

Since launching in 2019, TFT has emerged as the leading game in the auto battler and strategy genres and grown to become the world’s largest PC strategy game. The TFT franchise includes Teamfight Tactics, Golden Spatula, and Fight For The Golden Spatula, and has amassed over 300 million global players.

TFT has also developed a strong presence in the world of Esports. TFT Esports hosts a variety of competitive events throughout each year, with global competitions including three Tactician’s Crown tournaments and the TFT Open. Players battle through pan-regional level events throughout each Set, with the goal of earning a spot in the Tactician’s Crown – the ultimate showdown featuring the world’s best players. TFT’s Flagship Community event, the TFT Open takes place in a different city at the end of the year and brings together the global TFT community as hundreds of players compete in an intense open-bracket LAN tournament.
