Beginning this month, Pokémon GO Trainers will have the ability to join Shadow Raids and Max Battles remotely using Remote Raid Passes.
Here are more details on these exciting gameplay changes:

Shadow Raid Changes

Beginning May 13 with the “Crown Clash: Taken Over” event, Shadow Raids will become remotely accessible using a Remote Raid Pass. This ability will remain in effect after the event ends.

Max Battle Updates

Beginning May 19 with “Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day,” Trainers will be able to join Max Battles remotely using a Remote Raid Pass and Max Particles for the first time ever. This ability will also remain in effect after the event ends.

Players that participate in Max Battles in person will earn additional Premier Balls and XP.

More Passes and Particles

Both Max Particle and Remote Raid limits will be increased, with the daily Remote Raid limit increasing from five to 10 and the Max Particles limit increasing from 1,000 to 1,500.

These maximums may increase during special events, including May 24, where the Remote Raid limit will temporarily increase to 20.
