The newest TFT event is in full swing! Check out the news of the Lunar Festival and the Set. 4.5 Revival below:
TL;DR: TFT’s Lunar Festival is now available featuring the return of a favorite mid-set with Fates: Festival of Beasts and a new lineup of festive cosmetics, including some inspired by the Year of the Snake.
Date: January 23, 2025
What you need to know:
- Teamfight Tactics (TFT), the largest PC strategy game in the world, is kicking off the annual Lunar Festival event by bringing back a beloved mid-set as a limited game mode and launching festive content including an event pass, new arena, Chibis, Little Legends, and a new addition to the Unbound line of Tacticians.
- Revival: Festivals of Beasts marks the first set revival of the year and brings back the beloved mid-set update (Set 4.5) from January 2021 with brand-new trait Augments, four new Prismatic traits, and, unique to this revival, players will recruit units from a personal pool rather than drafting from a shared pool, giving more opportunities to build your team the way you want.
- Set revivals are temporary game modes where TFT revitalizes previous popular champions and traits from earlier sets by applying modern learnings from more recent TFT updates to improve the player experience.
- Revival Ladder & Leaderboard: During Revival: Festivals of Beasts, the Revival Ladder will also be back where players can unlock a special player border alongside an all-new Leaderboard where players with the most points earn their spot at the top of the rankings.
- Introduced last year with Revival: Dawn of Heroes, the Revival Ladder is a new progression system where players can unlock new ranks and free rewards for both their skill and how they play TFT with the Revival game modes.
- Arena: A striking new mythic arena called the Divine Serpent Realm.
- Tacticians: A roster of new adorable and powerful strategists join The Convergence.
- Chibis:
- Chibi Prestige Porcelain Ezreal
- Chibi Mythmaker Zoe
- Chibi Seraphine, available only through the Lunar Festival Event Pass.
- Chibi K/DA ALL OUT Seraphine
- Little Legends:
- Snek, an adorable, slithering friend comes in five different Variants: Lantern, Jade, Porcelain, Mushroom, and Star Guardian. While the Lantern Variant is a Lunar Pass Exclusive, all the other ones can be purchased through the Rotating Shop.
- Making a splash into the Convergence, Blubble is rolling in with Bee, Shimmer, and Soda Variants.
- New Variants
- Hundun is getting a galaxy-themed makeover with new Variants: Star Nemesis, Twilight Star, Dawn Star, and Starcrossed.
- Unbound: Dark Cosmic Jhin is headed for the Convergence as our next Unbound Tactician.
- Chibis:
- Event Pass: The Lunar Festival Event Pass is back with rewards including Chibi Seraphine, Lantern Snek, Realm Crystals, Star Shards, and Treasure Tokens. As a reminder, Chibi Seraphine, her boom, and Lantern Snek are all exclusive to the Lunar Festival Pass and will not appear in the Rotating Shop this year.
- Like our other event passes, players will unlock content as they play and collect XP. However, this pass will only be active during the Lunar Festival event.
- Mini Cinematic: It wouldn’t be a party without some Chibis and Little Legends joining the Lunar Festival. Watch Fortune Favors the Hungry, TFT’s latest mini cinematic.
- Event Dates: TFT’s Lunar Festival is available starting today with patch TFT13.4 and the celebration will end with patch TFT13.8 (March 31, 2025).
- 2025 Set Revivals: As announced in the TFT Roadmap Reveal during the TFT Macao Open, two additional set revivals will ship later this year.
Quote from Christina Jiang, Senior Product Manager for Teamfight Tactics: “With the first anniversary of set revivals on the horizon, we’re so grateful for the support of players around the world. Over the past year, they have embraced nostalgia for past sets and eagerly explored our combination of historic content and learnings from modern TFT updates. We’re thrilled to ship a new set revival alongside the annual Lunar Festival, which honors the event where we launched our first set revival ever with Set 3.5 Revival: Galaxies.”
