SANTA MONICA, CALIF. – April 8, 2022 – 5minlab, the independent studio recently acquired by KRAFTON Inc., announced that the real-time PvP action game SMASH LEGENDS will receive an update on April 12 that introduces a competitive mode called Competitive Match, a new Legend, the Legend Assemble Bundle and more.

As a real-time PvP action game, SMASH LEGENDS offers quick matches with short playtimes and intuitive controls, contributing to more than 5.5 million downloads worldwide. The game offers more than 25 charming characters (called Legends) based on unique interpretations of popular fairy tales, four modes (Dominion, Battle Royale, Duel, Competitive Match) and supports cross-play on both mobile and PC (Steam) devices as a multiplatform title.

See below for a breakdown of major additions and changes that will be in SMASH LEGENDS’ April update.

  • Competitive Mode: Competitive Match – Players will be able to showcase their PvP skills in the new competitive mode, Competitive Match. Players who are Level 15 or beyond with six or more types of Legends will be able to compete in Competitive Match. Based on the 3:3 capture structure, six players will select legends of their preference in a set order. Each player will be required to play with a unique Legend since a Legend cannot be selected twice. The mode will allow players to engage in strategic gameplay and show off their skills as it requires draft picks and changes tier scores based on the outcome of the match.

  • A New Legend Enters – The April update will introduce a new Legend, Yong Yong! Yong Yong will be available for purchase with credits or Gems and can deal significant damage to its opponent with body rolls and body slams. Yong Yong’s effects and emotes will also be provided to those who purchase the new Legend.

  • Legend Assemble Bundle – The Legend Assemble Bundle will be a content-rich package that includes most of the Legends released thus far. Additionally, Ravi, Witch Queen and Rapunzel’s new theme, Shadow Skin, will be available for purchase separately with the April update.

  • High Smashers Partner Program – SMASH LEGENDS is officially launching a partner program called High Smashers on April 18. High Smashers will be partner creators who promote and spread SMASH LEGENDS through their created content. Stay tuned for more information on how to apply to become part of the High Smashers program.

“We are doubling our efforts to improve communication with our users. One such example was the live chat Q&A session we hosted earlier this month on the official SMASH LEGENDS Discord channel in celebration of the release of Competitive Match,” said 5minlab’s CEO Moon-hyoung Park with the announcement of the April update. “We plan to share various news about the game and entertainment via the official SMASH LEGENDS community channels to strengthen our relationship with our players.”
