Brawl Stars gets emotional via a Supercell Valentine’s video

Well played, Supercell.

Brawl Stars, Supercell’s wildly popular mobile game that has hundreds of millions of downloads across the world, is celebrating Valentine’s (aka Brawlentine’s) Day with a special cinematic short featuring the classic Boyz II Men song “On Bended Knee.” In the short, we see the softer side of Rico, a gumball machine robot known best for his super fire bullets, as he becomes lovestruck on a lonely, rainy night. Will love last, or will it be shattered by a giant with a hammer?

Supercell’s in-house creative team and long-time partner Psyop are behind the Brawlentine’s Day cinematic. Together, the two have worked on prior animations in a similar style that fans love featuring other Brawlers including Barley’s Last Call and Piper’s Sugar and Spice, which have generated a combined 365 million views. Supercell and Psyop also teamed up for last year’s short film Lost & Crowned, which was the first official animated short film featuring the beloved characters from Supercell’s Clash of Clans and Clash Royale games.
