Knock Out City! gets a next-gen upgrade on November 2nd

Fun freaking game. Enjoy the official details of the upgrade below.

Knockout City, the dodgeball-inspired title from Velan Studios and EA Originals, is challenging players to brawl on next gen consoles! Starting November 2, fans can play on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 at a smooth 120 FPS.

The newest console update is a free upgrade for all current owners, providing the option to brawl in crisp 4K definition at 60 FPS. Brawlers can also select between Performance or Quality mode in the settings menu; the options per platform are as follows:

PlayStation 5: Native 4K at 60FPS or 1440p (upscaled to 4K) at 120FPS
Xbox Series X: Native 4K at 60FPS or 1620p (upscaled to 4K) at 120FPS
Xbox Series S: 1440p at 60FPS, or 1080p at 120FPS

The team at Velan has enhanced the lighting with additional power from next gen consoles, including new area lights, ball lights, particle lights, improved global illumination and local light shadows, giving the environment more reactions to the way light illuminates paths or casts shadows.

This upgrade also delivers higher fidelity textures, which were previously only available on PC and Xbox One versions. These create a more realistic environment, with “touchable” surfaces that dodgebrawlers can almost feel as they sprint past every opponent!

If a player already owns Knockout City on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, upgrading to this new version won’t cost a dime — they can download the game from the app store and jump right back into brawlin’ without missing a beat! Additionally, if the game was originally purchased through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PlayStation Plus, the player is eligible for this free upgrade.
