Helsinki – January 4, 2021 – Supercell’s Clash Royale League (CRL) is kicking off its fifth year today by returning to its roots with an individual competition format. With this return to individual competition, the league is more accessible than ever – anyone can play. Starting today, any player can join and begin competing in the month-long Trophy Race, where the top 1,000 players will directly qualify for the next round of competition by topping the in-game global leaderboard.
The 2021 Clash Royale League will feature a prize pool over $1.6 million USD. This year’s CRL will feature 8 seasons, each comprising a Trophy Race, a monthly qualifier and a monthly final. All players can compete to earn a spot in the top 1,000 every month and make it to monthly qualifiers. The Global Leaderboard will track League points gathered at each event during the year. At the end of September, the top 24 players with the highest amount of points will qualify to compete at the 2021 Clash Royale League World Finals. In October, the last chance qualifier will allow the players with the next highest points to compete for the remaining 8 spots to world finals. The crowning moment of the League will see the top 32 players compete at the 2021 Clash Royale League World Finals for the Golden Crown Trophy and their share of the prize pool.
