Nexon celebrates 25 years of Korean Online Game Exhibition

Cool stuff.

Seoul – September 4, 2020 – NEXON Co., Ltd. (“Nexon”) (3659.TO), marks the launch of a special online exhibit of the 25th Anniversary of Korean Online Gaming — a celebration of innovation and creativity by Korean game makers. The exhibition – originally shown in 2019 at the Art Sonje Center in Seoul, Korea – is now available to worldwide viewers at www.gameagame.org.

The original exhibition won the Brand & Communication Design category of Germany’s prestigious Red Dot Design Awards in 2020 and has been archived and posted online through a partnership between the Nexon Foundation, Nexon Korea[1] Intelligence Labs, and the Nexon Computer Museum.

The online exhibition, originally titled embodies the themes of player participation and growth, a unique characteristic of online games. The exhibition includes 20 multi-media elements including photos, videos and interactive elements such as “Dimension Library”, “Campfire” and “Lorna and Pann”. Additionally, exhibition visitors who play games on Nexon platforms can download their own play data into the exhibit for a personalized experience.

“ shows how an online game is developed and operated during its life cycle, and allows visitors to personalize their understanding of the history of Korean online games,” said Yunah Choi, director of the Nexon Computer Museum and a leader in planning the exhibition. “Since this is a unique exhibition specialized for online games that are hard to find similar cases around the world, we wanted to expand its exhibition experience and archive it in a fresh way.”
