The Rundown
Tempo Storm entered the second phase of competition looking to repeat its dominant performance in Phase 1. However, it was eUnited that headlined a strong field of challengers looking to get off to a quick start in Phase 2.
The Story
eUnited, which was nearly relegated to NPL Contenders at the end of Phase 1, surprised the league by jumping to the top of the standings following Phase 2’s first weekend behind a 43 kill and 71 point performance.
Lazarus (formerly Shoot To Kill) managed to build on its strong second-place showing at the FACEIT Global Summit: PUBG Classic in London. Despite having fewer kills than both eUnited and Cloud9, Lazarus made them count and currently sits in second place.
Tempo Storm looked to defend its Phase 1 crown but was kept in check during the first weekend, finishing in fourth place. Tempo Storm was held to 56 points, which was the lowest the team has scored in the 2019 season.
PlayerOne Esports, winners of NPL Contenders Phase 1, got off to a strong start in their NPL debut weekend, tallying a fifth-best 32 kills and collecting 48 points which ties them with newcomer Rumblers in seventh place.

The Future
As teams enter the second week of NPL Phase 2, teams will be looking to track down the early leaders, while eUnited, Lazarus and Cloud9 attempt to keep up their momentum from Week 1. Early in the season, standings are very fluid so expect a lot of movement during the first few weeks.
