The Red Bull Conquest Denver Qualifier Results are in… (as is the recap)

Check them out below!

Colorado’s top fighting game athletes showed up in full force for the Red Bull Conquest Denver qualifier this past Saturday. Players competed in intense matchups across popular fighting games Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, TEKKEN 7 and Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 and fought for a chance to represent Denver at the Red Bull Conquest National Finals in Washington, D.C. later this November.

The Denver fighting game community brought their a-game, with numerous cutthroat matches taking place over the weekend. In Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Shxd emerged victorious as the winner of that bracket, while StriderX303 was crowned the champion in TEKKEN 7. Ryyudo beat out intense competition and was the winner of the Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 bracket.

This November, the three winners will make their way to Washington, D.C. for the Red Bull Conquest National Finals and will compete against the nation’s top fighting game players. At the finals, the winners will clash against some of the most skilled players in the country and will need to give it their all to claim the title of Red Bull Conquest champion.

What happened…
The Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition bracket saw Denver’s own Shxd swiftly beat out Motives 3-0 in the grand finals matchup. After his win, Shxd was notably proud of his accomplishment and said, “the event is great, the audience was amazing and I can’t believe that I won my first tournament after two years.”

In TEKKEN 7, Aurora-native StriderX303 beat deviljim in a clean 3-0 win during the finals. In the grand finals set, StriderX303 stuck with his guns with Jack-7 while his opponent switched among three different characters. Despite his opponents efforts, StriderX303 was able to sweep each match and ended with a perfect on the final round.

Lastly, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 presented several close matchups as Aurora’s Ryyudo won 3-1 against his opponent BrentQuest in the finals. Leading up to the top 3 brackets, Ryyudo played confidently but cautiously, opted to watch his opponents rather than taking the opportunity to rush his opponents down, which followed through into the top 3 matches. He played confidently, but ultimately had to revert back to a cautious style against BrentQuest to pull out a slowburn victory to win Red Bull Conquest.
