I love a good breakdown when it comes to anything video game related. I’m not just talking about a review or a preview, but a detailed breakdown on how a video game was made or remastered. Last month the good folks at Guerilla Games gave a nice glimpse on how Horizon Zero Dawn was conceived and completed, allowing a view of their offices with interviews included. Detailing how things were done and presenting it to the public is quite a delight. This sort of stuff not only serves as a good blueprint to bringing a video game from a pitch to a product, or back to life in a remastered state, but it also provides perspective on the process of game making that developers go through to see their (re)vision through.
Anyway, sit back and enjoy this wonderful blog from Treyarch Studios called The Art of the Remaster: Call of Duty Zombie Chronicles. It’s quite the read.
