Los Angeles – May 26, 2016 – Night School Studio, the award-winning developers behind OXENFREE, has revealed a new partnership with iam8bit to produce a limited edition vinyl soundtrack of OXENFREE. Composed by Andy Rohrmann (aka SCNTFC), the double LP vinyl soundtrack is on sale now through the iam8bit online store for $35 USD. Special PlayStation®4 (PS4™) launch month pricing is set for $14.99 for PlayStation®Plus members (retail price is $19.99). Leading into the weekend before the PS4 launch and to complement the reveal of the vinyl, Skybound Entertainment have released a new video featuring the music of OXENFREE as part of the Skybound Creators YouTube Series.
Those who purchase the OXENFREE vinyl set will receive a download code for the digital album via email in early June (once mastering is complete) and the vinyl is expected to ship late September 2016. As with all new iam8bit music releases, the audio is mastered specifically for optimal vinyl audio quality. The 180-gram vinyl 2xLP is covered with the interpretive album art by Austin James. It features a holographic portal on the front cover and a die-cut portal on the back cover, enhanced by four interchangeable in-game environments printed on the interior vinyl sleeves.
On May 31, the OXENFREE New Game+ Mode content will be automatically updated to current Xbox One and Steam customers which is timed with the much anticipated release of the game for the PlayStation®4 (PS4™). To celebrate the PS4 release, OXENFREE will be available $14.99 for PlayStation®Plus members for a special launch month sale (retail price is $19.99 for PS4, Xbox One and Steam).
In addition to revealing the PS4 pricing and plans for the vinyl Soundtrack, Night School Studio and Skybound Entertainment have released a new OXENFREE | Part 5: The Music video as part of the Skybound Creators YouTube Series. This is the fifth episode in the docuseries and includes an in-depth interview with SCNTFC as he describes the innovative ways he produced the unique sounds heard throughout the game.
