Disney and IM360 going VR at the Radio Disney Movie Awards

Los Angeles, CA – April 28, 2016 – IM360, a Digital Domain Company, and the leader in immersive and interactive content, is teaming up with Radio Disney to bring virtual reality to the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards. This exclusive live red carpet experience can be viewed in 360-degrees and virtual reality on a variety of digital platforms, such as the Radio Disney YouTube channel and website, on Saturday, April 30 (1:00-3:00 p.m. PDT). Viewers will be transported onto the red carpet with Radio Disney personalities Brooke Taylor and Alex Aiono for an up-close-and-personal look at the stars, engaging in an immersive virtual experience on desktops, tablets and mobile devices.

The 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards (RDMA), music’s biggest event for families, will take place Saturday, April 30 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and will feature performances by Ariana Grande, DNCE, Flo Rida, Hailee Steinfeld, Zara Larsson, Daya, Kelsea Ballerini, Sabrina Carpenter, Laura Marano, Sofia Carson and Jordan Smith. The special telecast, “Disney Channel Presents the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards” will be presented Sunday, May 1 (7:00-9:00 p.m. EDT) on Disney Channel.

The Radio Disney Music Awards mark another in a series of IM360 livestreaming milestones, powering the first network television program to be simultaneously broadcast in VR (ABC Good Morning America “GMA on Safari: Tanzania”), the first live boxing match to be simultaneously broadcast in VR (David “Hayemaker” Haye at the O2 Arena) and the first awards show red carpet to be simultaneously broadcast in VR (MTV Video Music Awards 2015).
