Activision and Bungie announce Destiny partnership with Red Bull

Activision and Bungie today announced a partnership with Red Bull that begins with a unique collaboration for the launch of Destiny, the most pre-ordered new video game IP of all time*, which releases worldwide on September 9th.

To celebrate the upcoming launch of the game, a member of the Bungie development team will perform a coordinated skydive with an OpTic Gaming Performance Coach Mike “Flamesword” Chaves and the Red Bull Air Force on Monday, September 8th. Afterwards, the jumpers will join fans at the Destiny launch event and be among the first in the world to play the game.

“We love Red Bull’s passion for adventure and exploration and are excited to kick off this partnership with the launch of Destiny,” said Pete Parsons, COO at Bungie. “As partners, we can’t wait to see what awesome moments we dream up together.”

Red Bull will create and develop premium programming to bring to life the launch events for audiences worldwide. A three-part web series, “Destiny Drop Zone: OpTic Gaming Take to the Sky,” will take viewers through the jumpers’ journey as they prepare for and perform their high-flying experience. The first video of the series will debut the week of September 7th on the Red Bull ESPORTS Channel on YouTube, featured on the Red Bull Channel on YouTube and also on RedBull.com/eSports.

The web series is just one part of this dynamic Destiny launch collaboration, which also includes: Red Bull integration into Destiny’s Planet View experience created with Google technologies,Red Bull midnight launch activities at select Walmart GameCenters nationwide, and Destiny games featured in Red Bull college campus programs.
