BURBANK, CA (July 21, 2014) — Everyone’s favorite magical adventure comes to life in the newly re-mastered animated classic The Return of the King Deluxe Edition available on DVD from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on July 22, 2014. The film follows Frodo the Hobbit as he attempts to limit the negative power with which The Magic Ring has over Middle-earth. Face-to-face with danger and destruction, this adventure will have people on the edge of their seats to see if Frodo will rise to the challenges or waver under the pressure of the Ring. In The Return of the King Deluxe Edition, The Magic Ring has now become The Ring of Doom and the only way to re-establish harmony in Middle Earth is to destroy it using the raging fire from which it was made. The remarkable cast features Theodore Gottlieb, Orson Bean, William Conrad, Theodore Bikel, John Huston, and Roddy McDowall, all of whom were members in the original cast of the animated versions of The Hobbit and The Return of the King.
The original animated J.R.R. Tolkien classic, The Return of the King, provides an opportunity for families to introduce and share the magical experience of Middle-earth to their children.
