Destiny — a title to watch for in 2014

As the end of the year closes and you begin to write about what video games to look forward to in 2014, we hope you will consider including Destiny, the next evolution of entertainment from Bungie, the creators of Halo, and Activision, the company that brought you Call of Duty. In Destiny, players are cast as Guardians of the last city on Earth, who will traverse the ancient ruins of our solar system from the red dunes of Mars to the lush jungles of Venus.  Able to wield incredible power, gamers must battle humanity’s enemies and reclaim all that was lost during the collapse of mankind’s Golden Age.

An overview of why Destiny is a title to watch:

– In a story-driven universe, Destiny’s saga unfolds through grand tales and epic adventures by immersing players in a bold new universe filled with cooperative, competitive, public, and social activities, all seamlessly connected.

– Destiny’s many destinations will feature areas called Public Spaces where players journeying solo or with friends will seamlessly cross paths with other players and Fireteams, some on similar missions, others engaging in completely different activities. And in the public events, gamers can join real-time dynamic events that players and Fireteams in the area can choose to engage in. These Public Events are short skirmishes where multiple players work together to defeat their common enemies and collect awesome loot.

– Destiny will be released in 2014; however, fans can get an early look at the game when the beta begins next year on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®3; Xbox One and Xbox 360 from Microsoft. Destiny is not yet rated by the ESRB.
