Shia LeBeouf (Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Lawless) lead an all-star cast in the political thriller THE COMPANY YOU KEEP, debuting on Blu-ray™ and DVD with UltraViolet™ on August 13th from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Jim Grant (Redford), a former member of the Weather Underground, has been in hiding under an assumed identity since participating in a bank heist that ended in a security guard’s death. When a young and eager reporter (LeBeouf) discovers his identity, Jim must stay one step ahead of the FBI trying to charge him for the decades-old murder.
The ensemble cast includes Academy Award winners Julie Christie (Best Actress, Darling, 1966), Susan Sarandon (Best Actress, Dead Man Walking, 1996) and Chris Cooper (Best Supporting Actor, Adaptation, 2003), as well as Academy Award nominees Nick Nolte (Best Supporting Actor, Warrior, 2012), Terrence Howard (Best Actor, Hustle & Flow, 2006), Stanley Tucci (Best Supporting Actor, The Lovely Bones, 2010), Richard Jenkins (Best Actor, The Visitor, 2009), and Anna Kendrick (Best Supporting Actress, Up in The Air, 2010). The film also stars Brendan Gleeson (The Raven, Albert Nobbs), Brit Marling (Arbitrage, Another Earth), Sam Elliott (Hulk, Up in the Air) and Jackie Evancho. Special features on the Blu-ray and DVD include two behind-the-scenes featurettes on the making of the film as well as a press conference with the cast and a red carpet featurette.
SYNOPSIS:
Jim Grant (Robert Redford) is a public interest lawyer and single father raising his daughter in the tranquil suburbs of Albany, New York. Grant’s world is turned upside down when a brash young reporter (Shia LaBeouf) exposes his true identity as a former 1970s antiwar radical fugitive wanted for murder. After living for more than 30 years underground, Grant must now go on the run. With the FBI in hot pursuit, he sets off on a cross-country journey to track down the one person who can clear his name.
Based on the novel by Neil Gordon, THE COMPANY YOU KEEP was directed by Robert Redford from a screenplay by Lem Dobbs. Craig J. Flores and Shawn Williamson serve as executive producers with Nicolas Chartier, Bill Holderman and Robert Redford as producers.
