Perfect for television fans, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – THE COMPLETE TELEVISION COLLECTION GIFT SET will be available on DVD December 11 from CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution. Highlighted by never-before-released inside looks and extended interviews with the show’s celebrated stars, the set includes all seven seasons of the original Golden Globe® and Emmy® award-winning series along with its 1980s revival, together for the first time in dynamite-shaped packaging.
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – THE COMPLETE TELEVISION COLLECTION GIFT SET also contains must-see bonus features. The two-part exclusive featurette entitled “Birth of the Mission” and “Mission Debriefing,” gives fans a special behind-the-scenes look at the series, and includes never-before-released interviews with MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE stars Peter Graves (Jim Phelps), Barbara Bain (Cinnamon Carter) and Martin Landau (Rollin Hand). In addition, the series takes viewers back in time to view an archival interview with Greg Morris (Barney Collier). Plus, the collection also includes a photo montage celebrating the series set to the iconic MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE theme music, famously performed by The Kane Triplets.
The original action drama MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE follows the adventures of the skilled I.M.F. (Impossible Missions Force) team who carry out highly dangerous and mysterious tasks for the government. So secret are the missions that their details must be delivered to the team by pre-recorded tapes that are prepared to self-destruct once their messages are heard. Headlined by Graves in his iconic role as I.M.F. leader Jim Phelps, the series was an immediate sensation upon its original debut, and its pulse-pounding plots, ingenious gadgets and inspired characters continue to influence both small and big-screen thrillers today.
The 56-disc collection includes all seven seasons of the original series from 1966-1973, along with both seasons of the 1988-1990 series revival. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – THE COMPLETE TELEVISION COLLECTION GIFT SET is presented in full screen format with English 5.1 Surround and English Mono (Season 1); English 5.1 Surround, English Mono, and Spanish Mono (Seasons 2-7); English Stereo (’88 and ’89 Seasons); and English Stereo and English Mono (bonus disc). The collection also includes English, Spanish and Portuguese subtitles (Seasons 2-7) and English SDH subtitles (’88 and ’89 Seasons and bonus disc).
