Today, Madden NFL 12 announced its latest feature reveal, Online Communities, which provides an all-new way for Madden NFL gamers to meet and play. Users can create and join Communities of up to 2,000 like-minded players, competing on their own leaderboards based on customized game styles with more than 50 variables including: game length, gameplay sliders, game speed, penalties and more. Gamers will also be able to play head-to-head games within their community or team up with fellow members to play ranked Team Play against other communities. Users can join up to five communities at once to meet varying play styles.

INTRODUCING ONLINE COMMUNITIES!
With Madden NFL 12 Online Communities, you will be able to create or join a community with up to 2,000 other like-minded gamers and play head-to-head games against each other with your own rules and even your own leaderboards.
Here are a few highlights of Online Communities:
Online Communities is a response to massive fan feedback requesting the ability to play online without having to worry about cheaters, quitters or gamers that don’t play by the same rules
Each Online Community can have anywhere between 2 and 2,000 members
– Each gamer can be a part of up to five different Online Communities
– When creating a Community, you have the option to leave it open to the public and send invite messages to anyone you like or you can set a Community password that must be entered when other users try to join
The Community creator will set the “house rules”
– Every game option and slider in Madden NFL 12 will be editable and can be applied to all head-to-head game within the Community
– The Community creator can give members “Manager Permissions” that allow them to promote other members to Manager, kick out members, and change Community options and sliders
All Online Community games will be ranked on a Community Leaderboard
– Individual stats will be tracked and ranked
– Recent game results will be displayed for the entire community to see
Online Communities works with Online Team Play (OTP)
– You will be able to team up with members of your Community to play 3 vs. 3 games against other Communities
– Each Community will have its own private lobby room where you can chat with your fellow members and gather teammates to take on other Communities.
– From the lobby, you can view a box score and participants of games in progress
– Every Community will be ranked against the rest of the world on the Community Team Play Leaderboard
– Squads are back, boosts are gone, and all of your stats for all six squads will be recorded and ranked in the Squad Stats Leaderboard
– Your individual Team Play squad stats in one Community will carry over into all your other Communities
– Grieving rules will be in place – individuals who cause excessive delay of game or encroachment penalties will get kicked out of the game
– The classic Madden NFL camera is back on both sides of the ball
