Incendies Synopsis
When notary Lebel (Remy Girard, The Merry Wives of Windsor) sits down with Jeanne (Melissa Desormeaux-Poulin, Asbestos) and Simon Marwan (Maxim Gaudette, Les Trois Mousquetaries) to read them their mother’s will, the twins receive a pair of envelopes – one for the father they thought was dead and another for a brother they didn’t know existed. Jeanne sees the letters as the key to their mother’s retreat into unexplained silence during the final weeks of her life and journeys to the Middle East to dig into a mysterious family history. Simon joins his sister soon after, and with Lebel’s help, the twins piece together the story of their mother Nawal (Lubna Azabal, Paradise Now), discovering a tragic fate as well as the courage of an exceptional woman.
