As you head into the crowded floors at San Diego Comic-Con July 21-24, 2K Games invites you to join us for a special panel featuring The Darkness II™ entitled “Spreading The Darkness: From Comic Book to Video Games and Entertainment,” in celebration of the 15th Anniversary of The Darkness. The discussion around The Darkness II will feature top talent from Top Cow Productions and Digital Extremes, as well as other special guests, and will take place on Thursday, July 21, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm PT in Room 9 within the San Diego Comic-Con convention center.
The panel will discuss the evolution of The Darkness franchise from comic-books to video games, spanning different entertainment mediums, with key insights from legendary Top Cow CEO and co-creator of The Darkness Marc Silvestri, and President and COO of Top Cow, Matt Hawkins. Additionally, the panel will feature Sheldon Carter, project director and lead development staff of The Darkness II from Digital Extremes, and a few surprise special guests. The collection of these renowned entertainment and video game speakers will discuss key moments that have made the series a worldwide success with fans and gamers alike.
“San Diego Comic-Con is a special time for all fans that enjoy the incredible world of comic books,” said Marc Silvestri, CEO of Top Cow Productions. “I’m especially excited this year to be a part of The Darkness II and a speaker panel about bridging the gap between The Darkness as a comic book, video game and entertainment property.”
2K Games will also have eight playable demo kiosks of The Darkness II in the Top Cow booth (#2629) at the San Diego Comic-Con show floor for fans to descend into the gritty and visceral mind of Jackie Estacado. The game demo will feature Quad-Wielding™, which will allow players to slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with two Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. The game is layered with thematic elements of dark versus light, steeped in deep and twisted storytelling, and maintains the stylistic violence visualized through a hand-painted Graphic Noir technique, true to its comic book origins.
