Tagplay releases new screens and info for Funpark Friends

There is nothing more exciting than a rollercoaster, nothing more thrilling than a water rapids flume, and certainly no place more fun to be than a theme park! So players should be delighted to learn that in Funpark Friends™ they will soon be able to live every one of those hair-raising moments as they build their very own theme parks on their mobile phones!

Tagplay’s upcoming Funpark Friends™ will be a freemium social-sim for mobile platforms (iPhone and web-browser confirmed) in which players can create vast theme parks via a huge variety of in-game rides, shops, games and attractions. The extensive customisable facets of the game are a real highlight as players can personalise not only which elements they wish to include in their park, but also, for example, the theme of those elements. Do you want a ‘western’ themed district for your park? Sure thing! How about a jungle,… no,… a pirate district!? Yes! Anything is possible! Indeed, once players have chosen which rides, attractions and themed districts they want in their park, they can then specifically customise features by, for example, upgrading ride capacities, adding tunnels to rollercoasters, speeding up rides, and more!  With dozens of customisable in-game elements and multiple theme sets included on release – and a lot more scheduled in regular updates – Funpark Friends™ looks set to push the boundaries of social-sim customisation.

Additionally, whilst players will discover a very rewarding experience playing Funpark Friends™ offline, another aspect which the Tagplay team has strived to revolutionise is how players will interact with each other in-game online. No-one goes to theme parks alone in real life, so why should they in a theme park social-sim? As a result, players will not only be able to visit friend’s parks, but they will be able to invite other friends to engage with that park’s attractions with them. Players are then rewarded not just for being good friends, but also for the size of the party they have brought along. Funpark Friends™ is not simply about who can accumulate the most friends then, it is about developing strong in-game relationships with those friends too. Tagplay certainly appears on course to achieving the perfect balance between the addictive customisation of titles like Theme Park and Rollercoaster Tycoon, and the natural enjoyment of playing video games with all of your friends!

Tagplay’s Funpark Friends™ will soft-launch in Australia and New Zealand late July and will be released to the world late August, so keep an eye out for a lot of new information coming out over the next two months on what will be one of the most exciting and gorgeous looking social-sims of 2011!
