Culver City, CA (6/29/11) – From Studio Pierrot, creators of the classic Naruto and Bleach films, comes the stunning new anime adventure LEGEND OF THE MILLENNIUM DRAGON, premiering at the Anime Expo in Los Angeles (July 1-4) and the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal (July 14-August 7), before soaring onto Blu-ray Disc™/DVD Combo Pack this October 4th, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Based on Takafumi Takada’s beloved 2-volume novel of the same name, Onigamiden (in Japanese) tells the action-packed story of a 15-year-old boy named Jun Tendo who is thrust back in time 1,200 years into the middle of an ancient battle between Oni (demons) and humans. Hirotsugu Kawasaki, who previously directed 1998’s Spriggan and Naruto the Movie 2: Legend of the Stone Gelel, brings his unique visual flair to this high quality epic, which also features spectacular character design by Tetsuya Nishio (Naruto, Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG).

Synopsis
A spectacular journey of an unwilling young hero into a mysterious past full of monsters, dragons, and strange hidden powers.  Through a series of out of this world battles and adventures, Jun, a shy middle school boy, is transformed into a hero destined to battle evil and ensure harmony and tranquility in the world.

LEGEND OF THE MILLENNIUM DRAGON was written by Naruhisa Arakawa (Masked Rider Kuuga, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger) and Hirotsugu Kawasaki (Naruto the Movie 2: Legend of the Stone Gelel).  Its voice cast includes Kensho Ono, Satomi Ishihara, Shido Nakamura, Takashi Kondo, Shotaro Morikubo, Kentaro Ito, Yasuyuki Kase, Sosuke Komori, Shunsuke Sakuya, Kanako Tojo, Ryuji Aigase, Akio Nojima and Masaaki Tsukada.  It has a run time of approximately 98 minutes.  This film has not yet been rated.
