LOS ANGELES (June 23, 2011) – Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in the Americas, announced today the worldwide simultaneous launch of Victorian Mysteries®: The Moonstone for iPhone®, iPod touch® and iPad®.
Part of the Victorian Mysteries series of games from developer Freeze Tag Inc., The Moonstone is adapted from Wilkie Collins’s 19th century novel of the same name – widely considered as the first detective novel ever written in the English language.
Players, playing the role of Detective Cuff, are drawn into a world of suspense, suspicion and deception as they are tasked with solving the mystery of the missing Moonstone. The investigation focuses on the disappearance of a large Indian diamond given to a young Englishwoman for her eighteenth birthday. When the gem goes missing, suspicion falls on all parties involved.

About The Moonstone
On her eighteenth birthday, Rachel Verinder inherits a large diamond called the “Moonstone”. In addition its extreme monetary value, the diamond also holds great religious significance to the people of India. So much so, in fact, that three Hindu priests have dedicated their lives to recovering it.
During her birthday party, she wears the Moonstone on her dress, and it catches the eye of everyone who sees it. When the diamond is stolen later that night, there are a house full of suspects to be questioned, including potential suitors, servants, entertainers, and other party attendees.
