Playstation Network gives the voice to the users with first ever PSN Gamers’ Choice Awards 2011

February 15, 2011 – Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) today announced the PlayStationâNetwork Gamers’ Choice Awards 2011, designed to recognize the best games on PlayStation Network (PSN) across four game categories. Between February 22 and March 1, PlayStation Network users can cast their vote for best game in each of the four categories by downloading a free XMB™ (XrossMediaBar) theme corresponding to that game. At the end of the voting period, one winner in each category will be selected and the award-winning games will be featured at a promotional price as part of the upcoming PlayStation®Store Spring Fever event.

The PSN Gamers’ Choice Awards will showcase 20 of the highest user rated games released in 2010 as the nominees in four categories: Best PlayStation®3 (PS3™)Downloadable Game, Best PSP®(PlayStation®Portable)Downloadable Game, Best PS3/PSP MINI and Best PlayStation Network Exclusive Game. PlayStation Network users will get to determine which games earn top honors, and when the winning titles are announced, they will be celebrated by the PSN community with a 30 percent discount in the PlayStation Store and a 50 percent discount for PlayStation®Plus subscribers.

The PlayStation Network Gamers’ Choice Awards 2011 nominees that will be vying for top honors are:

Best PS3 Downloadable Game: Castle Crashers, Costume Quest™, Death Spank, PAC-MAN® Championship Edition DX, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World™: The Game

Best PSP Downloadable Game:God of War®: Ghost of Sparta,Lunar Silver Star Harmony, Phantasy Star™Portable 2, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable, Valkyria Chronicles II

Best PS3/PSP MINI: A Space Shooter for Two Bucks, Age of Zombies™, Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess, Vector TD, Young Thor

Best PlayStation Network Exclusive Game: Dead Nation, Hustle Kings, Joe Danger, Sam & Max Ep. 1, Soldner-X2
