SANTA CLARA, Calif., (Nov. 23, 2010) – NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., today announced that Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom™, is now available at retailers nationwide for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. Developed by Game Republic, this mesmerizing action-adventure features an engaging storyline filled with rich character interactions and robust gameplay. Players will travel through a seamless world as an agile protagonist who must battle enemies with a powerful AI-controlled monster to uncover the truth about their own identities.
In Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, a once thriving kingdom is suddenly engulfed by a dark force. Many tried to reclaim their fallen homeland but were inevitably overrun by strange warriors who rose from the darkness. A century later, a young thief is drawn to this forsaken land where he encounters and befriends the Majin, a mysterious monster-like being with incredible strength. Now in an effort to restore the empire, the two begin a dangerous voyage to reveal the truth about the forgotten past and secrets that lie within the ancient land.
Wrapped in an emotional journey of courage and friendship, Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom takes players on a majestic adventure as Tepeu, a cunning individual who must rely on his agility to triumph over increasing obstacles. What he lacks in might, his towering companion makes up for with his colossal size and brawn. As players progress through the game’s lush environments, the Majin will continue to acquire additional abilities that will provide access to previously obstructed areas.
Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom redefines co-op AI gameplay by delivering an accessible experience that offers the perfect mix of stealth, action, and puzzle solving. Though each character has their own objective, teamwork is essential for survival as the hero and the Majin must work in tandem to overcome any obstacle or adversaries that lie in their path. Extending the adventure post-launch, downloadable content (DLC) will be available featuring new levels, as well as unique costumes for Tepeu and the Majin.
